Plot set-up

The Victorian Tall Eucalypt Forest Plot Network Plot Details - Spatial Coordinates contains location data for 163 permanent 3 hectare plots in the Central Highlands of Victoria, Australia. At these plots surveys of carbon, vegetation, birds and arboreal marsupials are surveyed and data collected are provided in a series of related data packages.

Instrument
  • We use handheld Garmin GPS units. The original site location was also determined using a Trimble GPS unit.
Sampling
Study Extent Description

Each long term monitoring site is 3 hectares, with monitoring occurring only on the central hectare which is usually square, measuring 100 x 100 m or occasionally sites measuring 200 x 50 m where they interface gullies.
