The Upland Heath Swamps Plot Network Vegetation Floristics data package for Royal National Park contains information on the herbaceous species present in permanent plots arranged in eight 30 metre transects. These sites were originally established in 1990, and then sampled annually until 1994, and subsequently in 1999, 2001, 2007, 2011 and 2014. A synopsis of related data packages which have been collected as part of the Upland Heath Swamps Plot Network’s full program is provided at http://www.ltern.org.au/index.php/ltern-plot-networks/upland-health-swamps. **Note: this data package is associated with the following publications: [1] Letten, A.D., Keith, D.A. & Tozer, M.G. Plot set-up
In 1990, 56 permanent 0.5 x 0.5 metre plots were established along eight 30 metre transects arranged in pairs, with each transect comprising seven plots spaced 5 metres apart. The four transect pairs are spaced a mean distance of 211 metres apart (min = 104 m; max = 323 m).

Method Step 2- Description
-
Floristics
At each census, the abundance (number of stems) of all herbaceous species in each plot has been recorded.
- Sampling
-
- Study Extent Description
-
These sites were originally established in 1990, and then sampled annually until 1994, and subsequently in 1999, 2001, 2007, 2011 and 2014. The transect quadrat T6Q6 was not surveyed in 2014.
- Sampling Description
-
This study used the National Herbarium of New South Wales as a reference. The data includes records of the species Themeda australis, a synonym of the currently accepted Australian Plant Census name Themeda triandra.
